House decks x 2 - replace front and back maintenance and removal of pergola

Hi House decks x 2 Front entrance - replace / upgrade with Ekologix. Roof covering will get replaced rest of roof. Back Entrance - remove wooden covered overhead pergola and general maintenance. Need advice re suitable replacement - wood or metal. Need to remove as is obstructing replacing roof and attending to upper house repainting. To cover corners of house with chipped coverage. Aesthetics only. Planning to reclad within 2yrs.
