Fireplace fix up

We're looking for a builder who can prep our fireplace area before a gas fire is installed. We want to enlarge the woodstore (to fit DVD players etc) so the internal part of this needs a bit of work to make it look like an inbuilt shelf. Some bricks from the fireplace need to be removed also. The surround area beneath the mantel will be tiled and needs to be prepped for this but not sure how much work it needs, if any. Please see photo. Just after a quote at this stage.
