This job was not done at all and nor was the previous one. Although I gave a good review on the last job it was based on what Scott told me. In fact he did not pick up the aviary he was contracted to pick up as he said it was too big. I accepted his explanation that he had done everything possible to complete the job but was unable to. I still paid him the agreed fee as he had travelled a long way on my behalf. The version of the current owner of the aviary is quite different than Scotts. She works in the transport industry, specifically driving a pilot vehicle for oversized objects so I did take her comments seriously. She claims the aviary is not oversized, that although she told Scott exactly what was needed to load the aviary he came unprepared. He apparently had a quick look and went away. The owner of the aviary has kindly offered to bring it up for me herself. I was not present so everything I know is hearsay. However I do know that the aviary that I paid to transport home is not here. Apparently because 'I believed her and not him' he is not prepared to carry out commitment. I am very disappointed with Scott who initally appeared to be a very pleasant sort of guy who was very willing to please.

"Hi Judy We are terribly sorry you feel you have suffered from our companies incompetency to complete the job you required. In regards to the aviary, the size exceeds the limit Land and Transport New Zealand allows you to carry legally on a 3.5tonne 10ft deck truck. As the aviary measured 3,1m wide, 3m high and 5.8m long EXCLUDING the extra piece on the side that is near half the size of the main piece, we were advised by the Land & Transport information call centre that in order to legally move this item we had to acquire a pilot vehicle as this is an over sized object . We kept in constant communication with you describing the complex situation and tried every avenue to deliver your aviary. We described the state of the aviary and how the wood was split and rotting and we were afraid if we moved it or dismantled it your item would be damaged, we did not want you to be taken advantage of as we pride ourselves on providing the best customer service. Yes the seller DID indeed tell us we needed 5 strong men to lift it via a phone call and her husband said to bring it to Auckland on 2 planks of wood lining the back of our truck deck that overhung the legal requirements,we were not going to break the law for anyone. We find it very rude that the seller claimed we came unprepared as they did NOT meet us at the rental property and the tenants also did NOT communicate nor acknowledge us in the hour we were there. This is not about he said, she said this is about doing the correct thing by the law and the customer. We did not turn down the shed employment you required because of this complex situation, we decided it would be in the best interest if the home owner hired a company she did trust instead of one she had doubts about as stated in a previous email. We do hope you read this comment and take into consideration we were only trying to provide you with the best customer service all of our clients deserve. Kind Regards Scotties Property Management"
