Trim wooden window frame

Hello handy people, I DYI installed a double blind to find out that I can't fit the lower blind role over my window (a blond moment). I tried trimming it with a borrowed electrical hand saw, but the wood seems really solid and I didn't get too far with it without loosing my hearing. Can you help please? See photos below.
