Dog door installation

Looking to install a dog door for a cavoodle within the next four weeks. I do not have a dog door as yet and I’m unsure of best position in house as I don’t know if door can be put into any glass panel or if the glass panel needs to be removed & replaced with one with a dog door. New home. Double glazing.
