Replace electric with gas hob.

We have two houses potentially in need of electric elements to be replaced by Gas. One house already has a gas connection for hot water, and the other is scheduled to be fitted in December. We would potentially do the jobs at different times, but would take advice on best approach. Both would be bench top hobs only, and need to be more practical than beautiful.
