Gas Cooktop Swap

Have an old gas cooktop that came with the house in 2001. Have bought a new one and need it swapped over by a gas fitter. Have been told could be $700 to $1000, I get a lot of the cost is because of the cert, using the qualification of a proper gas fitter, etc. but is there anyone out there that could do it for slightly less?
