I think my gas fire needs a service

Some time ago I turned on my gas fire with the remote and it clicked it clicked away before firing up as it normally does, and it suddenly made a huge boom sound and it blew the front and the sides off. I've never being able to get the sides back on. Anyway, I turned the gas off at the wall and haven't used it since. I'd like to start using it again so am hoping to get it fixed/serviced or whatever is needed.
