Gas Fire Place 2

i have an old gas fireplace that appears to have blown a hole in one pipe that needs replacing. When pilot is lit the gas flame sit on half the fire and then under the fire place due to the hole in pipe. I would think this would be an easy fix for someone who knows what they are doing.
