I have recently bought a house that has gas hot water - but the vendors cannot find the gas certificate for it. The house is currently tenanted and for the tenants to obtain gas from a gas company, the gas company needs to see a certificate for the installation. I have talked to the plumbers, drain layers, and gas fitters board - they said a gas fitter can check the current installation is up to standard and provide a certification so gas can be obtained from a gas company. The current setup is for two large gas bottles (I think 45kg bottles) that sits outside the house - with a valve that can be switched between the two. I am looking for a quote at this stage to get this certified so gas can be obtained from a gas company. I would like to obtain this certification this month (November 2012).
