Reconnect gas hob to an alternate gas supply pipe.

We have gas hob supplied by a 9kg bottle which is connected under our back deck, the supply pipe distance being around 10m. Somewhere in the supply pipe there is a leak. Instead of fixing the original supply pipe to the hob (ageing rubber type pipe), we would like to re-route the supply to the gas hob from the copper supply pipe connected to the gas water heater which is directly adjacent to the kitchen wall. Total pipe circuit length would be around 3m. Thanks, Paul.
