Connect existing gas water heater to electric system

We have a 26 l/min Bosch external gas heater connected to our ensuite. We need it connected to replace our existing electric cylinder which serves the rest of the house - another bathroom, kitchen, laundry and hand basin. The old cylinder needs to be fully disconnected and emptied so that I can remove it. Completion before winter is desirable but not essential. All plumbing connections are in the roof, except for the electric cylinder.
