disconnect，remove，reconnect

We have one electric HWC downstairs which is now leaking , we also have an outdoor gas cylinder which supplies hot water for upstairs. We wanna disconnect and remove the electric HWC downstairs and reconnect the pipes to the outdoor gas HWC which was originally supplying hot water for upstairs only---now we wanna merge two cylinders into one.
