buxus hedges needing a cut back

We have two rows of buxus hedging (bottom and top row) which are a bit too overgrown. They frame either side of a central stair way. Both sides need doing... so 4 hedges in total..:: currently about 1 m high /wide. We want them chopped back to a quarter of their current size so that when they regrow, they will better sized. Ideally completed over December/January .. Green waste will need to be taken... We have a hedge trimmer and can maintain these but they were left to overgrow by previous owner and they need hacking back with a chainsaw!?
