Digging up stones in garden

We’re redoing our front garden and before we can get the stumps removed, we have to remove all the stones from the garden. They are about 10cm deep and I’ve made a start using a strong handheld rake. It’s labour intensive and I’m time poor with a young kid. Someone might be able to either continue digging it by hand or have a better method which is quicker. The garden is approx 8m2 and I have dug up approx a quarter of it (which took about 1.5 hours)
