Gardening, pruning and removing old wooden compost bin

I want an old wooden compost bin that I have been using as a raised garden to be taken down and the soil spread around. There is some weed mat which I would like taken up and also some self sown small trees (privet I think) that I want removed. One of the privet is larger so I will leave that there but want it pruned back a bit. I would like the soil underneath the weed mat dug over and prepared for planting.
