Replace roller door with sliding door

We are converting single garage into a semi lliving space and would like to remove garage roller door and replace with a sliding door if possible without having to make too many alterations. We were thinking it would be a matter of removing door, building frame to fit to sliding door we have and then installing sliding door accordingly.
