Job description

House Piling
Whangarei

We require foundations to be installed for a 30sqm cabin and 26sqm verandah on a coastal ridgeline site in Oakura, just north of Whangarei. A building consent design for the foundations has not been finalised, however we know that the job will require 16 piles for the cabin and 6 for the verandah. Pile depth should be 1400mm with piles ranging from 300mm to 1000mm in above ground height. 2400mm maximum. 600mm diameter holes. 250 SED H5 timber poles. Piles will need to be braced according to the consent technical drawing with --- bracing timber. Please see photos of the technical drawings. The soil is classified by our geotech report as: Topsoil: encountered in all hand augered boreholes from the surface to a depth of 0.2m bgl. Residual soil: encountered below the topsoil to depths between 1m and 3.9m bgl. This unit comprised of brownish orange, moist, very stiff to hard, silty clay/clayey silt. Scala testing was carried out at the base of hand augered boreholes to refusal depths between 6m and 7.4m bgl. Values were typically between 3 and 20 blows/100mm, indicating medium dense and very dense soils. No groundwater was encountered in any of the hand augered boreholes. It is unlikely that peak groundwater reaches depths greater than 5m bgl in steep Waipapa terrane. Looking forward to receiving your quotes. : )
