Re-piling and under floor insulation

Accoring to our house inspection when we bought our house last year, a stump has come off one pile in the corner of the house and this corner has sunk quite noticeably. The extension which is attached to this corner has also sunk. We have been told that we would need to lift the floor boards to do this job.
