We are wanting a qualified builder or repiler (someone who can guarantee their work) to add a bearer under a section of our wooden floor and also check and pack piles as necessary to remedy some areas of "bounciness" in the floor we have noticed post-earthquakes. The house was repiled about 15 years ago but there are now areas where there is some movement in the floor. The house is a 1920's bungalow with native timber flooring and underfloor insulation. There is a section of floor approximately 2x4m where the bearers run the opposite way (originally a porch I think) which will require one or more bearers and new piles as this section is noisy when walking on due to flexing slightly as there is insufficient support underneath.
