Job image

Job description

House Piling
Christchurch

We have a house requiring the floor to be replaced on a room-by-room basis. The first is a roughly 3.6 x 3.8m room with existing T&G flooring and no inbuilt joinery / wardrobes. There is borer in the timber and we want to replace and protect the new timber. The job would entail. 1) removal of existing skirting, floorboards, joists and bearers 2) realigning and securing of existing piles 3) Replacement of bearers, joists, securing of piles etc. 4) Installation of bulk insulation 5) Installation of strandfloor (or similar) and new skirting We will also be reinstating wall damp-proofing, borere protection and adding power sockets but this is anticipated to be by others. Timescale: as it's a bit cold to do this we would want to tackle this job in September at the earliest. We actually have 4 rooms to do but will use this as the first to see how it goes. If successful, whoever does this job will have first refusal on the remainder. We would expect and welcome a site visit.

Originally the job was just to replace one floor of a bedroom but we agreed to continue on to the other work and refloored four rooms. Firstly it was obvious that Roman had our budget and interests at heart. He asked all of the right questions, updated us regularly, made sound recommendations and managed his crew effectively. They were respectful, tidy and also have good subcontractors in their network for electrical work etc. I have recommended Roman Building to my friends.
