I have a basement area currently with about 1.8m headroom but it has several piles supporting floor joists above. I want to remove some of those to create a clearer floor plan by installing 3 new piles to support 2 steel beams. One will span 5 meters and another 4 meters. I have engineers calcs showing this can be done with either 250mm or 200mm depth steel beams. Once I know the costs I will need to apply for building consent which may take a month or so. The overall plan is to then excavate the clay floor, lay some base course and put down a concrete slab. I already have price parameters for this latter part of the plan So I am open to getting a price for the beam work only, or the combined job
