Solution needed to remove wooden entryway

We are wanting to put vinyl planking down through the dining room / kitchen. At the moment it’s just concrete floor but this entryway exists with wooden planks.l. We want to remove the wooden planks and fill in the space it leaves so it’s ready for the vinyl planking to be put down and be one unified look.
