We need to laminate our kitchen floor. I tried to do a DIY about 10 years ago, I wanted my floor to be sanded right back and have it polished, but when I lifted the lino and underlay, there were tiles that were stuck fast to the floor boards. When I tried to lift these, I was left with a black tar substance over 90 percent of my floor. Tradies came to have a look at it and refused to do it because of the asbestos. Then I ran out of money and it's been like this for 10 years. I was told not to wash my floor too much, or I would damage the wood. The floor is very uneven and needs something to even it out.
