Sanding and polishing on the kitchen entrance floor

Hi When we first moved into this house, we removed the carpet and polished the wooden floor. Originally there was tiles on the kitchen floor. After few years later we did kitchen renovation and place the light wood laminate. As you can see in the photo, it revealed some unstained area on the floor. I think it needs to be sanded and put the matching stain. There are two entrance to the kitchen as shown in the photos. Best regards, Sam Choi
