Ceiling beam sanding/planing

Ceiling beams in house are too dark. I would like them to be sanded or planed and then retreated with a lighter finish. There are 6 beams. Approximately 4500 mm long and 60mm thick. The beams are approximately 2.3m above the floor at the lower end. Ladder required. The room currently has no furniture in it, only fixed items. Some will need to be covered. The carpet would need to be covered. Tidy up to be included in quote.
