Sanding and polishing wood floors

We are planning to remove the existing carpets (we will do this and also prep the floor) and then get the wooden floor below sanded and polished. The quality of the timber floor is expected to be fairly "typical" for a 1960's house (no renovation work has been done on the house before) but we cannot confirm this yet. The total area is 60m2 split over the hallway/entry, lounge, dining room, kitchen and laundry. Note that the kitchen and laundry currently have vinyl so please let me know if there are any additional requirements for these areas. Work would ideally be done during the week 23-27 September.
