Remove carpet and vinyl, sand and polish floor

I have recently brought a small unit (45m2) and want to freshen it up before moving in. It currently has carpet in the living room and bedroom, and vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom. I am wanting to get a quote for removing the current floor coverings and doing a sand and polish. Would also be good to get an understanding of what kind of flooring may be under the coverings. The unit is a 1960s brick and tile.
