The fence on one side of our property broke last night in the wind. We need an urgent repair to secure the property. It's about 35m in total length. The wooden posts were secured into the concrete retaining wall (see photos) Ideally we would like to replace with a wooden fence but it obviously needs a different construction design to deal with the very high wind zone. We may consider an aluminium balustrade type fence which allows more airflow We have started an insurance claim so we may need to submit quotes to the insurer if do end up making a claim

Fence was done quickly and appears to be to a good standard. Some minor issues like the gate being installed upside down and the work site was left messy. Took a while to get provider to resolve this. As materials were reused the provider offered to repair wooden stairs at no cost. Subcontractors did a poor job and resulted in unsafe stairs with uneven height and length. Provider wanted to charge us to remediate the unsafe stairs which was a result of his own poor workmanship

"The client wanted an insurance job done at the best price possible and wanted it done ASAP. He was happy with the fence and wanted extras done, but was reluctant to pay for them.
There was no plan drawn up for the steps and sadly the clients expectations were not met. Having a plan would have helped for both parties.
I replaced the gate and cleaned up the site myself.
I’m happy to remedy the steps, provided the client commits to paying for the unpaid extras."
