The current fences and gates are looking sad and are rotten. Need to have them replaced.

Not yet known - still has not invoiced despite saying that he would email it to me last week. The first day he told me he’d finished the job, I went out and discovered that that side gate didn’t shut properly , and the front gate took a big shove to shut it properly, and was a real challenge to open at the latch. Once he fixed that, the front gate only opened enough for person to slip through, as it was getting caught on the ground. I had to ask him to fix that too. His solution was to cut the bottom of the gate palings – only some of them, and on an angle. It looked terrible. That’s why he replaced a couple of the palings. He said he would do that at his expense though. In summary He was erratic at keeping in touch as to when he was coming. It took a long time to nail him down to making it to his first visit, and I had to chase him up re coming back to replace the gate palings. He didn’t seem to have very high professional standards as his idea of a job finished showed pretty shoddy work, and he needed things pointed out to him that seemed obvious to me (such as gates shutting properly!) He has done the job adequately now though.
