We purchased our property which has a swimming pool: a code of compliance certificate was provided. Following a recent inspection, we have now been told the pool fencing is not compliant in two areas: the gap between the bottom railing and the ground is more than 10cm. We can't understand how that passed CoC however now we have to fix it. There are two sections of fence - one is bolted to the concrete pad and measures 147cm across, the other goes to the boundary fence and is 151.2cm across. We are open to cost-effective, straightforward solutions: add another steel bar to close the gap, add some concrete in the gap...whatever you recommend, except it has to be a permanent closure of the gap. The width and height (depth?) of the existing rail is 4cm x 4cm. We are near the main shopping area of Rolleston.
