Move existing aliminium driveway gate

We are looking to move our aluminium gate in the driveway forward towards the house to (a) move it away from the roots of a cabbage tree and (b) allow a car to park in front of the gate without straddling the driveway. I am not 100% sure, but I would expect the gate could be moved further down the cement driveway by using the existing materials.
