Repair trellis gate

Hi there, Just wondering if someone could help me with repairing my trellis gate? The latches used on our existing gate probably weren't suitable and due to high winds, and this was the result. Would like to repair it, put a new latch on the inside that is a bit more sturdy, and have access to open and close gate on both sides. Thanks, Misty Papatoetoe ---
