Replace old gate drop bolts with new ones

I have two existing drop bolts on my swing gates and I've purchased new spring loaded heavy duty ones. Unfortunately, I don't have the drill bit big enough to make a hole for the drop bolts to slide into the driveway stop. I tried but my current bit ever so slightly doesn't fit. Job as pictured very straightforward.
