Screening ugly retainer

Job image

Job description

General Fencing
Dunedin

The height of the neighbours property is roughly 2m above our own, with an ugly great timber retainer on our side of the boundary. This is the view from our kitchen and so we would like to clad the thing with a solid permanent covering that is tight to resist ivy/vines growing through any gaps. I have done a few costings and don't want this job to be a big expenditure, and so have opted for rough-sawn palings, at 1.8m, probably 80 to 85 of them. I would like these mounted onto two horizontal bands, with a horizontal section, like a 30cm width plank, running underneath the vertical palings to give a height on our side of 2.1m off that first elevation (presently covered with blue tarps). There will also be a need for one post to be concreted in, with a short, roughly 1 to 1.5m section of matching fence, to link the post to the retainer and join up to an existing fenceline. Quite a boring, simple job, should be straightforward and fairly quick. I have put 900 to 999 as estimate as I think materials will be around $500 plus 500 labour, maybe 8hrs at 60, for example. Happy to have someone come, measure up, I can pay deposit and work can happen anytime in next couple of months, no big hurry. Perhaps a one day fill when you need one. Good access to site.
