Hi - ThinTanks 3000L empty water tank installation I would like to have two 3000L ThinTank water tank installed. This requires 2x holes to be dug for each tank, each being 400mm x 1m in depth. Each post hole requires a steel post (supplied) to be installed into the concrete, and a base prepared for the tank to sit on. I have two tanks to install. I have the tanks, steel posts, and fixings. Each tank will require approx 0.5cum of concrete for installation, so the total concrete requires is approximately 1cum. Any vehicle/digger will need to fit through a 1.5m width gap. The tanks weigh approximately 200kg empty. The plumbing of the tank will be handled by the plumber/drainlayer The installation details are: Drill 400 mm diameter hole × 1.0 m deep and set post a minimum of 300 mm in 20 MPa mass concrete A foundation base (3.5 × 1.0 m) under a tank is not required structurally. The contractor is advised to supply a concrete base min 100 mm thick × the base area of the tank, with SE62 ductile mesh reinforcement. However alternative options such as paving slabs laid on a firm compacted sand & gravel base are quite acceptable. Concrete volume = 0.25cum for the post holes + additional 0.35cum for base
