Job description

Earth-Moving
Manukau

Published: 28 June 2016

I'm preparing my frontyard to put base course (gap20) and pavers. I need to excavate to about 200mm deep, and move the earth (clay) from the frontyard to my backyard. I've already done the first 21 sqm manually, it takes too long, so I'm looking for a man with a small digger and a small tipping truck to come and do the remaining 42 sqm. Small is like 2-3 tonn truck, cause a larger truck would not fit to the backyard (our driveway is 2.7m wide and house eaves' overhang the driveway). Total area to do is 6m by 7m, so 42sqm. Assuming 200mm deep, that's about 8 cubic meters solid clay, so about 14 cubic meters when digged out. Actual volume will be a bit less because the top 30-80 mm of topsoil are already removed. Saturday or Sunday are the best, though through the week is ok too. Alternatively if someone knows where to dump the clay cheaply (like $50-100 per truck with 6-8 cubic meters, not $300 they charge in East Tamaki), that's a good option for me. The clay is clean - no rubbish at all.

Strongly recommend Brad. He turned up on time Saturday morning as agreed. Was very efficient, careful, have done amazingly careful job removing earth around water mains without any damage to the pipe. Was very careful with our new driveway, not even a scratch. Tidied up the site after the job. Overall Brad had done a great job. Moreover, Brad gave me some great advice on replacing water mains pipe. I couldn't ask for more! So happy to have him helped me. Will definitely use again.
