Dismounting Alarm System

My townhouse is having ceiling to floor curtains installed within the next 3 weeks. There is an ancient alarm system that needs to be removed to make space for one of the curtain sets, seems like a small job of cutting a wire, but I don't feel equip to do it myself safely. Also, the doorbell needs repair, it hasn't worked in years; it is less imminent but would be nice to squeeze into the same callout.
