Kitchen ceiling extractor fan installation

We need a kitchen ceiling extractor fan installed in our kitchen. We are in an unit on the second floor but have WorkZone putting up scaffolding on the 17th Feb as the building is being painted. We'd like to make the most of the scaffolding being in place to put an extractor fan in the kitchen going up and out through the soffits. So timing would be key here! There is some suspicion that the soffits could be asbestos due to the age of the building.
