Fuse overload blown fuse

We have had an overload on our fuse/switch to our water pump. When we turn the power board fuse switch back on it won't stay on if the anything is turned on at the power switch. When the fuse is on and we then try to turn on the anything there is mini explosion that turns off the mains fuse again.
