Upgrade powerpoint type in ONT cabinet so I can close the door!
Job description
We have a fibre connection at our house, standard cabinet in garage where TV/SKy aerial etc comes in, and the ONT for the fibre. The thing is...this house wasn't ever set up propery for fibre. When we first got it, there was only wireless available as it was one of the first being built in this area- bit of an oversight so now we have fibre to the garage/ONT box, but no fibre cable through the house to the jack in the kitchen/lounge area to plug the router into...we have the router in the garage...meaning I've got cables coming out to the router and the power adapters for the ONT and router are too fat to let me close the door and it's driving me a bit nuts, as well as giving me cr*p internet connection. I'm hoping to use one of these: --- So that: a) what needs power has it and can fit in the cabinet, letting me close the door b) still supplies internet via the power cabling into the kitchen/lounge jack where I can put my router and get much better connection I'm looking for a quote on doing this, and about how long it might take (roughly). Also please excuse my terrible house layout drawing, I only had paint on this laptop ha-ha. I've added two photos of the cabinet, one a bit zoomed out for persepctive and one with the power point I'd like changed to the item linked above. Am just looking for costing at the moment, but if you think it will absolutely work and the price is reasonable, I'll probably try sort it in the next few weeks : I have no idea how much this will cost so set the thing below to the lowest - that's why I'm here, to figure out how much! :) Please message here/email if that's an option, I can't hear on the phone too well. Fixed a problem that's been nagging me for ages and that two other people who had come out previously hadnt manged to (or been bothered to do properly). Cabinet is closed, internet is fast and stable - super happy. If ever I need an electrician again, this is the one I'm going with. Cheers!
