Lights and power switches

Needing a light and switch installed in our new walk in wardrobe, the wires are already in the roof. We had insulation installed last week and one of the guys got a shock in the ceiling so investigate if there are live wires. A couple of plug replacements and a few that do not work. add a plug in a wall where there is a lightswitch but we have no idea what the switch is for.
