RCD Tripping circuit to one part of the house, particularly lighting

Suddenly this evening parts of our house lost power, particularly the lights in one part of the house but also some power plugs downstairs. I have managed to keep the freezers going by running a lead from a plug still operational but need a sparky to sort the problem for me tomorrow (Sunday).
