Fix dimmer on light switch

The dimmer on the light switch in our lounge doesn't work. The lights work fine, and the dial turns left and right, but the lights don't dim. We've had an electrician come to have a quick look at it, as part of another job he quoted for and said it's an easy fix and the part is K005U Dimmer 500VA universal trail & lead. Ideally looking for someone local, and who can come in the evening or weekends
