We're buying a rental investment property on 28 June. The building report advised that we need to add extraction to the bathroom and kitchen to comply with landlord obligations. The house has a skillion roof (I think that's what it's called), i.e. no ceiling cavity. Looks like we might have to go through a brick wall, but I'm just not sure, perhaps there's a way to come out through the soffit. Bathroom has no installed extractor fan at present. We would need a quiet fan installed above the shower. There is nearby roof-space access, and easy roof access. An active decision has been made to install not into the soffit. We would need to keep costs low - so we'd want the fan wired up to one of the two existing light switches.
