We're building a new house in Kapiti this summer and are looking for quotes to supply and install a solar/woodburning range-powered central heating and hot water system. The house will be North facing, well-insulated and double glazed. It will be approximately 150sqm and have 2 adults and 2 children living there - but we would like the system to have some "room for movement" with guests staying etc. The collectors should be the evacuated tube type with parabolic mirrors, the HWC to suit 4+ adults and 15kW equivalent heat input from a Wamsler woodburning kitchen range. The range+HWC would in turn supply 6 hot water radiators (1.5 - 2kW heat o/p equivalent) and 2x thermostatically controlled underfloor heating. Other components would obviously be a suitably sized expansion vessel, solar controller, collector mounting frames, valves, cocks, refrigerant etc as well as sensors for datalogger+PC connection. We would supply the woodburning range and radiators unless you were able to source and supply new/used old fashioned "Fin" type cast-iron radiators. The quote should detail each component and the P&L guarantees available for each. Thanks for reading!
