Installation of an extractor in kitchen

We would like to install an extractor fan in the kitchen of our rental property. We would like this work completed in the next two weeks. There is room above the window to mount an extractor on the wall. We would like the extractor to be effective in eliminating cooking smells - we would appreciate any recommendations for extractor make/solution.
