Replacing light sockets.

My light fittings are a bit *crusty* and they sort of disintegrate when I change the bulbs so I would like to replace all of them. The plastic is brittle and some of the metal collars (?) are a bit loose. I have 13 in total to replace. Plus there is a plug and switch in the garage that I would like to have replaced because the wires are exposed.
