Job description

General Electrical
Dunedin

Work that needs to be done: 1. Full rewire of the lighting circuits in the house to remove the VIR conduit wiring and also provide an earth conductor for current and future light fittings. 2. Full rewire of VIR conduit plug circuits and the hot water cylinder circuit and upgrade the HWC isolator and final connection. (this may prove a problem with the age of the cylinder) 3. Replace ceramic fuses for MCB circuit breakers. Remove bare fuse base because of the exposed live contact. 4. Replace and upgrade switchboard to give circuits RCD protection and room for future upgrades/additions. 5. Protect the main earth conductor with flexi- conduit, put a main earth tag on the conductor, install protection toby for the main earth electrode. 6. Replace non-compliant switchgear in laundry and sleepout. 7. Upgrade sleepout sub-board for RCD protection, the current owner spoke about overloading the only plug fuse while using too much. 8. Installation and wiring of 2-3 IP rated power plugs under car port. One of them will be used for EV charging. Detailed pre-purchase electrician report available upon request.

Sam and his apprentice did an excellent job, rewiring our house. Communication before, during and after the job was done was always excellent. Sam was always on time, gave useful advice and was overall very pleasant to deal with. We also appreciated that Sam is always going the extra mile, not cutting corners as well as cleaning up after himself :-) Will definitely use his services again.
