Wall lamp removal - bedrooms

We are wanting to remove the wall lamps/lights on either side of the bed in the master bedroom, and the second bedroom. I assume we need the wires to be closed where the lights were, as well as the light switches to be removed, or cut off in the back end. We will be covering up the holes with gib etc so it looks like we never had lights. See master bedroom photo attached.
